At Dr. Rose Wang’s dental office, we use the latest technology to ensure that your visit is pleasant and pain free. That’s why we use WaterLase.
Heat, vibration, and pressure are the three main factors that cause pain. WaterLase is a form of laser dentistry
that uses laser and water spray to perform procedures. What’s great
about WaterLase is that it does not create heat, vibration, or pressure,
so it generally allows for dental procedures to be carried out
pain-free and with significantly less shots, anesthesia, and drill use.
It’s a gentle approach to dentistry and brings about the following
benefits during gum procedures:
- Reduced bleeding
- Reduced post-operative pain
- Less swelling
- Less need for pain medications
How does WaterLase work?
By
using water, air and laser energy, WaterLase is able to remove tooth
enamel decay as well as bone and gum tissue without affecting any of the
surrounding area. Our teeth contain water, and when WaterLase’s laser
is directed at the tooth, these water molecules become excited and cut
through the tooth. Meanwhile, WaterLase continuously sprays water onto
the tooth which keeps it hydrated and prevents the heat that’s
associated with tooth pain.
How does WaterLase benefit patients?
In
addition to the benefits listed above, WaterLase also provides clients
with increased cavity bond strength and reduced hairline cracks and
fractures. It also allows dentists to perform more cavity procedures in
once sitting, which allows you to visit the dentist less often!
